The beginning of the twenty-first century has seen growing awareness and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people at the University of Wisconsin Law School.

QLaw was first known as the GLB Law Student Association, which started as a support group for gay, lesbian and bisexual students. By 2001, the organization included transgender individuals and became GLBTLSA (GLBT Law Student Association). As the organization grew, QLaw came into existence in 2002.

In just a few years, QLaw has grown from a few members to an active community engaged in social events, fundraising, networking and other activities. QLaw’s membership continues to grow significantly both in number and diversity.
